MIAF welcomes a delegation from the National Yunlin
University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.
YunTech was established in the 1990s with unprecendated levels of central government support. Taiwanese animation is going through a generational change and YunTech is undoubtedly at the forefront of this phenomena.
The work is often short, sharp, highly inventive and perfectly poised to embrace the ever broadening range of screening formats in the rapidly fragmenting cinematic world in which we live.
Eight students and tutors from YunTech will journey to MIAF. They bring with them a program especially compiled for this screening which will showcase their best films dating back to the founding of their institution.
This promises to be not just an intriguing screening, but also a window into the 'real time' development of the contemporary Taiwanese animaiton scene.
