Felix the Cat

Film classification regulations in Australia require all films to either be formally classified OR restricted to an audience of 18 years of age and over. Like most festivals, we do not have the resources to classify films, and it is for this reason alone that we are not able to admit any person under the age of 18 years to the main MIAF screenings.

Fri 25 June, 5pm-10pm
Sat 26 June, 12pm-11pm
Sun 27 June, 4pm-10pm

Grab some drinks and nibblies, catch up, check out some great programming.

Located on the ground floor at ACMI, bottom of the escalators (next to the Batmobile!!)

Sunday 27 June, 5pm-8pm
Installation Animation
Some animated pieces just aren’t designed to be screened in a hushed, darkened cinema for people sitting in nice, straight rows. Too many of these highly stylised, vividly imaginative works were just not getting selected for Competition and so we created a better way to watch them. Come join us in the Festival Club for this free event. This collection of animated works is better put up on a wall and experienced in much the same way as paintings in a gallery would be. Take the opportunity to take them in from different angles, to talk to others about them while they
are playing, overhear what others are seeing in them, to contemplate them as part of a bigger environment.
